CONRAC APM

To provide easy customer access, a new and distinct APM system will operate from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport's Central Passenger Terminal Complex (CPTC) to the new Consolidated Rental Car (CONRAC) facility, with an intermediate stop at the Georgia International Convention Center (GICC). Planned to open in November, 2009, this APM system will be 1.5 miles long, with a dual lane elevated guideway, and have approximately 10 minute round trip times with 2.5 minute wait times at stations.

The system will be operated and maintained by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries of America, and incorporate a Maintenance and Storage Facility.

MHJIT Extension

The extension of the existing APM to the forthcoming new Maynard H. Jackson, Jr., International Terminal (MHJIT) will serve as the primary passenger connection to the existing CPTC and concourses. Currently scheduled for operation in early 2012, the 1,200 foot extension to the east includes:

  • A new passenger station
  • Two guideway tunnels
  • Extension of the existing test track
  • An additional Light Maintenance and Storage Facility
  • A 'drive through' APM carwash
