2009 Ground Transportation Permit Renewal

Dear Ground Transportation Provider:
It is now time to submit your company’s application to renew your 2009 ground transportation permit.
In prior correspondence we advised that the renewal process was being delayed to coincide with the official launch of the Automated Vehicle Identification System (AVI), the introduction of a new fees structure as well as the new Web Permit System on-line system for ground Transportation. Currently, there are unavoidable delays in implementing these new processes but it has been decided to move the renewal process forward in order not to create further inconvenience to you, our customers.
The new permit process will be based on ‘per trip’ use fees, however those fees will not be applied for this renewal. Each provider category and the companies within each category (limousine, shared-ride, hotel/motel, off-airport parking, etc.), will pay their fees at the current rates until further advised. Any adjustments that are necessary will be made to each company’s account when all arrangements are in place and an effective date is established. Please submit your application packages with all of the appropriate forms and documents from the list below. The forms are available on our website at

- Renewal Application Form, completed and signed
- Permit Document (cover and signature pages completed and signed)
- Business License as appropriate for provider category
- Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety (GDMVS) - Motor Carrier of Passenger Permit as appropriate for provider category.
- Georgia Department of Revenue (GDOR) - Intrastate Registration Permit & Certificate of Registration as appropriate for provider category
- Class ‘B’ Passenger, Limousine or MCA Certificate/Permit as appropriate for provider category
- ACORD Certificate of Liability Insurance (limits $500,000, $1,000,000, $100,000), City of Atlanta named as additional insured
- Proof of State of Georgia required Automobile Liability Insurance for all vehicles listed in permit application
- Insurance Verification Form, signed, notarized and including a list of vehicles assigned to the business
- Non-negotiable Title, Vehicle Registration & Cab Cards
- Company Fleet Log (all details completed)
- Company Driver List (all details completed)
- Fee Computation Form applicable for provider category
- $20.00 non-refundable Application Processing Fee made payable to City of Atlanta
