| Permanent art humanizes the vast scale of Hartsfield-Jackson by immersing passengers in an environment that entices the senses. It serves as a soothing counterpoint to the often bustling travel experience. With funding set aside by the City of Atlanta’s Percent for the Arts ordinance, the Airport Art Program collection has steadily grown since 1979 when 14 pieces were commissioned for the then new terminal. Today’s collection has more than 250 pieces. Works range from an impressive collection of framed artworks by Georgia’s top artists to monumental architecturally integrated pieces. |
